Khurda Road, the Divisional Headquarter, is located in between Bhubaneswar, the Capital of Orissa and Puri, the holy sacred place of Lord Jagannath. The Divisional hospital was commissioned in the year 1961along with the Division and has 80 beds now. 10 doctors, including specialist in major disciplines, headed by one Chief Medical Superintendent, attend to the medical needs of the Railway employee.
There are 10 Health Units spread over the entire Division, i.e. at PALASA, BRAHMAPUR, PURI, RETANG & LOCO Health Units at Khurda Road, CUTTACK, PARADEEP, TALCHER, BHADRAK & KENDUJHARGARH.
Curative Health Services
The Divisional hospital caters to need of approximately 14000 employees of Khurda Road Division and their dependants. In addition there are 1381 Retired Railway employees and their dependants availing the facilities. Annual OPD attendance of patients is 2.10 lakhs & admission in the Indoor is 2569. 42650 investigations have been conducted this year.
The hospital has Medicine, Surgery, O&G, Eye, Pediatric, Chest, ENT, Anaesthesia and Dental speciality facilities. There is a well equipped Eye clinic, Laboratory, Radiology, Ultrasonography and Physiotherapy unit & Operation theatre & 06 beded AC Mortuary in the hospital. The hospital is undertaking IOL Micro Surgery, Lap-Chole Surgery and Obstetric & Gynaec surgery regularly. A 24 Hours Ambulance service has been outsourced to attend emergencies.
All the Health Units are provided with Oxygen, E.C.G, Suction Apparatus, Nebuliser, Glucometer and investigation facilities.
