RAILWAY RECRUITMENT BOARD EXAM CENTRE FOR ASST. LOCO PILOT/TECHNICIAN ALLOCATED SUITABLY.

47 Lakh candidates applied for Exam

34 Lakh candidates have been allocated cetres within 200 Kms.

99% persons with Disabilities & Women Candidates allocated Cetres within 200 Kms.

40 Lakh candidates have been allocated cetres within 500 Kms.

Arrangements have been made as per availability of CCTVs at Centres.

Few candidates of Asst. Loco Pilot/Technician Examination of Railway Recruitment Boards have represented against allocation of Examination Centers to them in distant Cities or different States.

In this connection it is important to note that more than 47 lakh candidates have applied for this Examination. Maximum care has been taken to allocate centers to the candidates in the same or nearby cities. More than 71% candidates i.e. about 34 lakh candidates have been allocated centers within 200 kilometers. And on extending this range further to 500 kilometers, about 83% i.e. about 40 lakh candidates have been accommodated. It is also pertinent to point out that about 99% persons with disabilities (PwDs) and women candidates have been provided centers within 200 kilometers itself.

In few states, the proportion of applicants is much more than the available capacity of suitable examination centers, equipped with critical security features like CCTV, frisking, metal detectors, etc. From Bihar about 9 lakhs, from UP about 9.5 lakhs and from Rajasthan about 4.5 lakhs candidates have applied. Inter State movement of some candidates from these states is inevitable. But, here again it has been ensured that the candidates who had applied early have been accommodated in their own or nearby cities and states, whereas those candidates who had applied late, towards last date of application, had to be moved out.

Even for such candidates, who had to be moved out of their states, efforts have been made to allocate them in major cities in other states having better connectivity.

It is also to be noted that out of 26,502 vacancies only 2292 vacancies are from Railway Units in Bihar, where as the balance 24210 vacancies pertain to other regions of the country. Candidates from Bihar have applied against these posts also, hence looking into the constraint of availability of suitable exam centers; some candidates have been allocated centers in other regions of the country also.
