ALL RAILWAY STATIONS OVER ECoR NOW WITH 100% LED LIGHTS:

41041 LED BULBS INSTALLED IN ECoR JURISDICTION FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION

East Coast Railway (ECoR) has become equipped with 100% LED Lightings at all the Stations over its jurisdiction by adopting Energy Conservation measures before o­ne week of the target period i.e. March, 2018.

Indian Railways had planned to make all the Stations 100% LED lit to cut power consumption. For that, Railways have adopted eco-friendly measures for energy needs in Railway premises. This is a huge initiative taken by East Coast Railway to provide energy efficient lighting which will eventually greatly help in conservation of environment also. This is more energy efficient and has longer life span.

Out of 319 Railway Stations and Passenger Halts over ECoR; 134 Stations under Khurda Road Division, 118 Railway Stations under Waltair Division and 67 Stations under Sambalpur Railway Division are now equipped with cent percent LED lightings.

East Coast Railway has installed about 41041 LED Bulbs over its jurisdiction. After implementing of 100% LED lights at the Stations over the jurisdiction, this Railway expected to save energy at about 21 lakhs Unit approximately which will also save about Rupees 1.33 Crores annually.

Waltair Railway Division will save 2 lakh Units of Energy which cost about 15 Lakh rupees, Sambalpur Railway Division will save 6 Lakhs 50 thousand Units that costs about Rupees 41 Lakhs and Khurda Road Railway Division will save  12 lakh 79 thousand 690 Unit which will cost about  77 Lakhs 52 Thousand rupees.
