BHUBANESWAR SECOND ENTRY & SAKHIGOPAL NEW RAILWAY STATION BUILDING DEDICATED TO THE PUBLIC

Passenger amenities works at Bhubaneswar and Sakhigopal Railway Stations including Bhubaneswar Station 2nd Entry & Station Building, New Booking Office with Reserved and Unreserved Ticketing System at Platform-6 side has been dedicated to the public today by Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Railways Shri Rajen Gohain at a function held at Bhubaneswar Railway Station.

New Booking Office with Reserved & Unreserved Ticketing System at Sakhigopal Railway Station has also been dedicated to the public through video conferencing from Bhubaneswar, o­n this occasion.

Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan praised Railways for infrastructural development of this region and urged to speed-up the projects by continuous review of Railway Board. He said that both Railways and State Govt have to jointly work together and solve the problem of land acquisition issues which is the biggest bottleneck for railway projects. The allocation of funds for Railway projects is very high and these funds should be fully utilised for the benefit of infrastructural projects.  He appreciated the efforts of East Coast Railway in planning of 6 mtrs wide foot over bridges at Bhubaneswar and Bhadrakh and said that all efforts should be made to complete the work in 2018 calendar year.

Praising the performance of East Coast Railway for the development of Railways in this region, Union Minister of State for Railways Shri Rajen Gohain said that Fund for the projects in this region will not be a constraint. Railway Ministry will provide full support for infrastructural development. Shri Gohain also said that the o­n-going projects in this region will be completed in due course as per the target date. He also urged state Government to co-operate with Railways by providing land so that o­ngoing projects will be completed at the earliest.

New Station Building at PF No.6 of Bhubaneswar Station has been completed recently at a cost of Rs. 1.97 Crores having facilities like Booking Counter cum Lobby, Second Class Waiting Hall, Upper Class Waiting Hall, Food Plaza, TCI Office, Toilets for Divyang Passengers, Pay & Use Toilets and Circulating area with Barricade.

Similarly, the New Station Building at Sakhigopal Station has been completed at a cost of Rs. 1.55 Crores having facilities like Booking Counter cum Lobby, Second Class Waiting Hall, Toilets for Ladies & Gents, Circulating area and Approach Road.

 

Earlier, Shri Umesh Singh, General Manager, East Coast Railway welcomed the guests and informed about the performance of East Coast Railway. Shri Brij Mohan Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road offered vote of thanks.
